Jamal Musiala- Football story.

Musiala first had a taste of football at age of two and his parents started preparing for his future by finding him an academy. As early as age of four, Musiala was already training with TSV Lehnerz, a local club in Fulda. The super talented kid led the under seven of the club to win significant honours and also winning the 2008-09 top scorer for the junior tournament. His reign at Lehnerz didn’t last long as his family moved to England.

After moving to England his parents saw the necessity of their child continuing from where he had left off in Germany and started to look for an academy but getting him enrolled to the best academies wasn’t easy as they had thought. Lack of football frustrated Musiala and this forced his father to find other alternative and he was advised that his son must first join a football school while they push for a bigger academy.

The highly pushy and ambitious dad made his son join Central Academy. Here Musiala met Levi Colwill who later became his best friend. His father wasn’t convinced about his son being at Central Academy as he viewed it as a small team with less standards and decided to go higher by trying his luck at Southampton.

With the help of Rosh Bhatt, the first coach of Jamal Musiala at Central Academy, his father was able to reach out the scouting management of Southampton Football Club and invited one of the club’s scout to come and watch Musiala in the next game who at last recommended him after a successful test match.

After successful trials, in November 2010, Musiala was approved to join Southampton Youth. At Southampton, Musiala showcased his talent and the academy played a critical role as it exposed him out to a larger audience which also attracted other scouts from bigger academies in England and with no time Chelsea and Arsenal began monitoring him.

Chelsea and Arsenal engaged in a transfer battle and requested for the boy’s presence through an invitation to the club. Southampton saw an opportunity of making a profit by selling Musiala as they were no longer interested in keeping him. Chelsea finally won the battle after convincing his parents who had also visited the club’s facilities.
