Brennan Johnson biography.

Brennan Johnson was born on 23 May 2001 in Nottingham, England. His mother Alison Johnson and father David Johnson welcomed him as the third child and the last born of the three children.

Growing up and Education.

Brennan spent his childhood life alongside his two older sisters; Maddie and Liberty in west Bridgford, a place located in south of Nottingham where their dad used to work. His father, David Johnson is a former Jamaican professional footballer and wanted his son to follow his footsteps and as he grew older he nurtured him day by day. His dad was also open to let his son enjoy other sports incase football didn’t work out. Brennan as a kid enjoyed playing table tennis with his sisters, golf and Bowing.

Brennan together with his sisters had their schooling at West Bridgford located south of Nottingham.

Brennan’s career build up is connected to his father and West Bridgford, the home of Nottingham Forest a place he grew at. His father being a club legend gave him instant benefits as at an age of three Brennan had started mascot duties for the club. After his dad retired at age of 31 due to injuries he begun working on his son who was six years at that time and got him enrolled to Dunkirk FC, a small local club near their home in West Bridgford.

In 2009, Brennan went for trials at Nottingham Forest where he successfully passed which was a joy to his parents especially his father. He did private training with his dad to help him boost his skills more as at Nottingham Forest they let the kids enjoy the game until they are old enough.

At age of 15, Brennan Johnson had a knee injury which nearly ended his career. In a match between Blackburn and Nottingham Forest in 1 November 2015, he dislocated his knee cap and was sidelined for almost a year but luckily he survived. After the injury his developments accelerated quickly and at age of 18 in 3 August 2019 he made his senior debut for Nottingham Forest.

Lincoln city- loan.

After making an impression in senior matches , Lincoln requested for a loan move and on 25 September 2020 they signed Brennan Johnson on a season-long loan. He made his debut two days later. He had a successful loan spell at Lincoln, scoring 10 goals including a hattrick against Milton Keynes Dons. This made his parents club to push for his immediate return.

Nottingham Forest.

Upon his return from loan, he begun replicating his good form at Lincoln and scored his first professional goal for Nottingham on 28 August 2021 in a 1-1 draw against Derby County. In September 2021 he was awarded the EFL Young Player of the month after scoring once and assisting twice. The year 2022 saw him achieving a meteoric rise with Nottingham Forest as he won EFL player of the month of April and netted 16 goals to help Nottingham secure a place for Premier League promotion play offs. He was the top scorer across all Championship play-off games as Nottingham secured a Premier league promotion.

He ended the season as the club top scorer in all competitions scoring 19 goals. He was named the EFL Championship Young Player of the Season. In 1 July 2022 he signed a new four year contract which was to expire in June 2026. He played every game in the 2022-23 season scoring 8 goals and 3 assist as Nottingham avoided Premier League relegation.

Tottenham Hotspurs.

Brennan Johnson signed a six year contract with Tottenham after a successful £47.5 million transfer move and the club announced his arrival on 1 September 2023. He made his debut on 19 September against Sheffield United and on 11 November he scored his first Tottenham goal against Wolverhampton.

The youngster was instrumental to Tottenham as he ended the 2023-24 season as the club’s top assist provider; ten assist and five goals.

International Career.

Brennan Johnson started his international duties by representing England where he played international friendly games for under-16 and under-17 side before switching his international allegiance to Wales in 2018. He represented Wales under-19 and under-21 and in September 2020 he received his first senior national team call up. He made his senior national team debut on 12 November 2020 against United States and scored his first goal on 11 June 2022 against Belgium. He has been a regular player since his debut.
