Born Benjamin Šeško, is a Slovenian professional footballer who now plays as a forward for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
Šeško previously played for Red Bull Salzburg, an Austrian top tier league club where he made 55 appearances scoring 21 goals. The evolution of Šeško in his football career dates back in his home country Slovenia where he falled in love with football when he was in first grade and joined Radeče football club.
Šeško spent three years at his hometown club before moving to three more Youth academies; Rudar Trbovlje, Krško and Domžale. Red Bull Salzburg
After being in three academies, Šeško joined Red Bull Salzburg at age of 16 on 2019 and he was loaned to the club’s reserve team FC Liefering which is in Austria second division. At Liefering, Šeško played for two seasons accumulating 44 appearances and scoring 22 goals. These stats earned him a senior team promotion and debuted for Red Bull Salzburg on January 2021.
Šeško made 55 appearances for RB Salzburg from 2021 to 2023 where he scored 21 goals with the club.
RB Leipzig
The German club announced the signing of Šeško on 9 August 2022 for a reported transfer fee of around €24 million. Šeško would join his new club on 1 July 2023 on a five year contract lasting until 2028.
Šeško had a brilliant 2023/24 debut season where he scored 18 goals across all competitions also setting a record of being the youngest ever player to score in seven consecutive Bundesliga matches before turning 21. Šeško scored his first UEFA champions league goal on 19 September 2023 when they defeated Swiss club Young Boys.
