Who is Joshua Zirkzee?
Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a forwad for English premier league club Manchester United and Netherlands national team.
Zirkzee spent his early football years at his home country before joining Bayern Munich U17 side from Feyenoord in the summer of 2017 and after three years with the Youth system he earned himself his first professional contract in 2020 with the club. After his breakthrough to the first team, he made 17 appearances scoring four goals. Bayern decided to send him on loan to Anderlecht for further developments where he had a successful spell with the club scoring 18 goals in 47 matches and later joining Parma on loan.
Bayern decided to sell Joshua Zirkzee to Italian Serie A club Bologna after an agreement with the player and the club and as part of the deal they included a buy back clause. Zirkzee is a two time Bundesliga champion, UCL winner, SuperCup and DFB Cup winner.

Joshua Zirkzee biography.
Joshua Orobosa Zirkzee was born on 22 May 2001 to a Dutch dad and a Nigerian mother in Scheidam, Netherlands. He is the eldest of the two children born in their family.
At age of three his parents moved to Rotterdam where his love for football as a sport began and to ensure his inborn talent was utilized, his parents enrolled him to VV Hekelingen academy at age of five.

Career Timeline.
Early career
After being enrolled at VV Hekelingen academy his father was not satisfied with his grass root academy and sought to look for a more competitive academy and he was taken to Spartan’20. After three years he moved to ADO Den Haag where his talent was quickly noticed by league rivals Feyenoord. Joshua Zirkzee stayed at Feyenoord Youth for just a year and moved to Bayern Munich U17 in 2017.
Bayern Munich
After joining the Under 17 side of Bayern Munich he spent three years playing for the reserve team. His presence was felt after he scored a hattrick for the Bayern Munich II on his debut this led to applauses from David Alaba and Joshua Kimmich from the senior team.
After an excellent spell with Bayern Munich II he was promoted to the senior team and on 11 December 2019 he made his debut against Tottenham Hotspurs in a UCL group stage match. He scored his first goal with the senior team on 18 December against Freiburg. He finished the 2019-20 season with a continental treble.
Bayern decided to send him on loan to Parma with a buy option but he got a LCL injury on 2 April 2021 which limited his playing time at the club as he made only four appearances all as a substitute. In 2021-22 season, Bayern loaned him to Belgium club, Anderlecht and he had an excellent season as he was the club’s top scorer with 16 goals and had nine league assists.
Bologna
Bologna announced the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bayern on 30 August 2022 on a fee worth €8M. He scored his first goal against Napoli on 16 October the same year. His second season with Bologna started to attract transfer interests from other European clubs as he finished as the club top scorer with 11 goals and five assists helping the club to secure a Champions league spot for the 2024-25 season.
Manchester United
On 13 July 2024, Manchester United announced the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna at a reported fee of €40M which was to be paid in three installments rising up to €42.5M. Zirkzee signed a five year contract lasting until June 2029.
International Career.
Zirkzee has been in the Youth set up of Netherlands from the U-15s to U-21s.
Following the injuries of Frenkie de Jong and Teun Koopmeiners, Joshua Zirkzee was called to fill in the position as he was initially not named in the Netherlands squad for the Euro 2024 in which he made his debut against Turkey on 6 July 2024.
